Position Summary:

 Under minimal direction and supervision supports the activity and function within the CVFP clinic pod ensuring efficient patient flow, supporting physician and nursing activities and on- going coordination of clerical team members.

Key Accountabilities:

 · Performs general office duties such as answering telephones

· Explain treatment procedures, medications and physicians instructions to patients

· Schedule appointments for patients

· Greet and log in patients arriving at clinic

· Compiling patient referrals and coordinating appointments with specialist offices

· Send, receive, sort and distribute mail and fax messages

· answer the telephone, schedule and confirm medical appointments, greet patients and receive and communicate messages

· operate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, photocopiers, fax machines and document scanners

Qualifications: (minimum required)

· Grade 12 education

· Medical Office Assistant diploma or certificate

· 1 -2 years of experience in medical office setting

· Must be strong team player

· Strong work ethic, self-motivated

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Must possess a positive attitude, an ability to work in a team-based environment, and contribute to a positive work environment

· Demonstrated communication, problem solving, and organizational skills

· Time management skills
